What Are Affiliate Links & How Do I Use Them
Affiliate links look and work almost like any other URL. However, an affiliate link uses a special tracking code so that if you were to make a purchase through that link, at no additional cost to you, I would make a small commission. Though I may be minimally compensated, I include these items because I believe in them, not for the small commission.
For example, through ShareASale, I apply to merchants I love like East Fork Pottery(<—this is an example affiliate link). I’ve been collecting their wares long before I was an affiliate, because their collection is made from regionally-sourced stoneware clay fired in a gas kiln. They are timeless and simple, yet refined, pieces that I truly love.
I share links in the actual post to products that are relevant to the post, instructions, or what’s in the images for convenience. When I read something, I like to know exactly what the author used. So, I link to exactly what I use, whether that’s the fertilizer I use to grow my tomatoes, the mixer I use to make homemade pasta, or the camera I use to shoot the photos (these are all affiliate links). However, many of the links I share are not affiliate links, because my #1 priority is showing you how to grow and prepare your own food. If I find resources that are helpful to me, I share them in hopes they are helpful to you. However, for simplicity, assume all links are affiliate links. Ads in the side bar are just that: ads.
Any compensation goes back into creating content for this website, the garden, or the animals (and it is extremely appreciated). If you are going to purchase a product and would like to help support Chews Local, please visit the Shop page for some of my favorite and most-used items.
Although I link to products I personally purchase, order, and enjoy, these are third-party companies, which I do not control. Therefore, Chews Local is not responsible for accuracy, efficacy, or shipping of any item ordered. Any concerns with a specific product purchased through a link on this website should be directed to the company the item was purchased from.
